Sebastian Shotokan Karate, formerly known as Shotokan FL, is proud to serve the Sebastian community with authentic, traditional Japanese Shotokan Karate instruction.

As a traditional Japanese karate dojo, we teach the true essence of karate—not only punches, kicks, forms, and self-defense, but also discipline, respect, humility, perseverance, and the development of strong character.

Our roots extend back more than 40 years through our hombu dojo, Way of Life Shotokan Karate, where our instructors began teaching in the diverse and vibrant communities of New York City. Over the decades, we have helped children, teenagers, and adults develop confidence, physical fitness, self-control, leadership, and practical self-defense skills through traditional karate training.

Our students range in age from 5 to 83, demonstrating that it is never too early—or too late—to begin your karate journey.

We offer exceptional instruction in traditional Shotokan Karate, along with comprehensive self-defense training for students of all ages and experience levels. Our curriculum develops:
